This morning, you will meet your guide from Guizhou in Sanjiang, Drive 3 hours on the country road to Tang’an, hike 2.5 hours from Tang’an (堂安侗寨) to Zhaoxing via Xiage Dong Village. This is a classic hiking tour from village to village through splendid rice terraces.

The Dong ethnic minority can be recognized by their turbans (for men), and pleated skirts (for women). They are also known for their architecture, particularly their drum towers, and Fengyuqiao (or wind and rain bridges), which are pavilions for sheltering people during bad weather.

Further explore villages around Zhaoxing in the morning. There are altogether eight villages around Zhaoxing, including Xiage and Tang’an. We can either hike to Jitang or Jilun in the morning or have a nice walk in Zhaoxing and leave Zhaoxing.

After lunch, drive to Y Dong village and hike about 3 hours from lower Y village to upper Y village. The Road into Y Dong village is so far rarely visited by tourists.

Today, we firstly drive to Danzhai, witness Gaoyao rice terraces.

Afterwards we drive to W Gejia Village through Kaili. Hike on a dirt road into the village.

This morning we will drive to visit a Miao embroidery master, she will show us her wonderful collection of different minorities’ old costumes. Next, we will drive to J and start hiking for 3 hours to get to WG for lunch in the village and in the afternoon hike 1 hour to BG Miao Village.

Free morning in the village and hike 4 hours from BG to Xijiang in the afternoon.

Accommodations: Guest house in Xijiang

Hike 3 hours from Xijiang to WY and after lunch in the village we may explore villages around WY.

Then hike one more hour from WY to the main road to meet our driver and transfer to Kaili.

Free until drive to Guiyang Airport.
