Zhangjiajie National Forest Park [ Related Itinerary ]

Located in the southern part of the Wulingyuan Scenic Area, covering an area of 130 square kilometers, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is regarded as the symbol of Zhangjiajie and the first national forest park of China. The Golden Whip Stream is about 7.5 kilometers long and is well known for its pristine waters, steep cliffs and green mountains. The highlights to see in this area include Golden Whip Rock, Zicao Pond and Chonghuan Tree. The Yellow Stone Village is about 800 meters above sea level, which is famous for its overhanging cliffs and jagged rocks. Step into the village, visitors will encounter unusual sights such as Fir Forest Path, Heavenly Book and Precious Box, A Pillar Piercing the Southern Sky and Pick Star Platform.

Located in Middle Subtropical Zone, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park enjoys a comfortable environment cool in summer and warm in winter and it is endowed with dense forest. It is home to abundant flora and fauna including many rare ones, such as the civet cats, giant salamanders, satyr tragopans, dove trees, maidenhair trees, yews, tulip trees.
