Located in the center of Xian old town, only behind the famous old building Drum Tower, Muslim Quarter or also being called Huimin Jie in Chinese is best observed of Xian Islamic heritage.

Muslim Quarter is the community for local Muslim Hui people, a Muslim ethnic group in China. The 1,800-square-meter neighborhood has 10 mosques and more than 20,000 Hui inhabitants. The Great Mosque architecture and designed is completely Chinese, except for some Arabic lettering and decorations. The mosque is very easy to found in the middle of the alley of market stall. It is a truly calm, quiet and peace place in the surrounding of bustling night food market.
