Daming Palace [ Related Itinerary ]

Daming Palace is the most magnificent palace in the world during China Tang Dynasty, where Tang emperors lived and dealt with state affairs. Once got destroyed in a fire and today only one palace building and some pillar stones left in the Park. 

Totally 1.6 miles long and 0.9 miles wide, Daming Palace covers a large area of 1.2 square miles. The whole palace consists of 2 parts: Qian Chao and Nei Ting. Qian Chao is the place where emperor do the state affairs and Nei Ting is the living place for the royal family.

Qian Chao consists of 3 palaces: Hanyuan Palace where held the grand ceremonies; Xuanzheng Palace where emperors administered state affairs; Zichen Palace where the emperor meet the ministers. The most famous one is the Hanyuan Palace. Step into the park, through the Danfeng Gate (used to be the south main gate of the palace), you will see the Hanyuan Palace. During Tang Dynasty, on every New Year's Day, the emperors would hold great ceremonies here. Hanyuan Palace now becomes an underground museum which show you the fantastic Tang Dynasty Culture. Then a miniature of the original palace will give you a clear picture of the magnificent palace in Tang Dynasty.

Nei Ting is located in the north part of Daming Palace including the living places and the garden area. The most famous palace in the Nei Ting is called Linde Palace (142 yards long and over 87 yards wide), where emperors held banquets and received ambassadors. Besides, there are countless pavilions, towers and corridors built in the garden area to provide a tranquil atmosphere.

Daming Palace has been rebuilt and opened to the public on October 1st, 2010 and listed as the World Heritage Site in in June, 2014.
