The park is famous for Daming Lake, a natural lake formed from many springs. The park totally covers an area of 860,000 square meters with the lake area of 460,000 square meters. A series of man-made islands were built in the middle of the lake, all of which consists of flowers, trees and other plants around various pavilions. In the lake there also plant plumes of lotus. In every summer, the lotuses bloom will occupy half of the lake with its fragrant scent. On the banks of Daming Lake, there spectacularly planted large amount of weeping willows with the history of hundred of years. When summer comes, willows circle the lake on three sides and swing with the breeze forming a charming scene.

Besides the natural lake scenery, the man-made architectures in the park are stunning as well. Totally are over 30 different temples and pagodas are waiting to your explore including: Lixia Pavilion, Tiegong Temple, Nanfei Temple and the North-Pole Pagoda, etc. Among all of them the most outstanding one is a great man-made hectometer fountain which was built in 1985. The fountain consists of 103 injectors and the main injector can spout water as high as 100 meters.  Another highlight of Daming Lake Park is the rock carvings left by some of China's most celebrated poets like the great Tang Dynasty philosopher Dufu.

Every year, Daming Lake Park holds many festivals and activities such as the Temple Fair in Spring Festival, the New Year Flower Exhibition, the Lotus Exhibition, the Stone Exhibition and different folk festivals.
