Chongqing Zoo is located in Jiulongpo District, only 8 kilometers from the city center. It is one of the most favorite attractions among children. The zoo was first built in 1953 and officially opened to the public in 1955. Built in 1989, the Panda House covers an area of 2 hectares. In order to better preserve this national treasure animal, the Panda House in Chongqing Zoo is designed according to the natural environment and the living habits of giant pandas. It is not only an ideal habitat for pandas to live but also a breeding center. In the Panda House, visitors can get a close look at of these lovely animals and the babies. The best time to see the pandas is during the feeding time between 8:30am and 10:30am. This is the most active time. Visitors will see the pandas playing with each other, climbing trees, and happily posed for photographs. If you visit in the afternoon, you may see them just lie around lethargically and sleep. Sometimes it is hard to see the giant panda, while in other times, they may walk around in their rooms leisurely. As the treasure animal of China, the Panda Hose in Chongqing Zoo receive a large number of visitors every year, according to the records, 1 billion annually.
