Wide and Narrow Alley is one of historical sites and the top tourist destination in Chengdu city. Reconstructed from 2005 to 2008, the area consists of Wide Alley, Narrow Alley and Well Alley three parallel ancient alleys, 45 Qing Ming Dynasty style courtyards, modern villas and theme hostels.

The history of Wide and Narrow Alley started from the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911 AD). In the 57th year of Kangxi reign of Qing Dynasty (1718), the government sent about 3,000 soldiers to Tibet. After the war, more than 1000 Baqi Garrison have settled in Chengdu with their families. Thus built the original courtyards and alleys.

Wide Alley
Wide Alley is a symbol for modern people to memory the past Chengdu. Local presidents, phoenix trees, inns and the old tea houses all located here. There is an Experiencing House of Old Chengdu Life inside the alley. The House consists of living room, bedroom, study room and a kitchen and displays the daily life of a common family in Chengdu during the year of 1912 to 1949. As the name express, visitors can experience the old lifestyle in Chengdu.

Narrow Alley
The architectures in Narrow Alley shows the combination of Chinese and Western styles in the early 20th century. Fast food restaurants, cafes, retails and themed salons can be found in the courtyard. After renovation, the alley was decorated with bamboos, vines and traditional wall lamps, injected with the style of German, Japanese, American, French, Indian, etc. Today, the Narrow Alley is full of elegant atmosphere.

Well Alley
Well Alley is the modern side of Wide and Narrow Ally. The facilities here include pubs, nightclubs, dessert shops, wedding site and retail shops. Various kinds of bars fully express the modernity of the alley and visitors can enjoy the multicolored night here. The Well Alley Market has become a gathering place for people who are good at creation. One of the most featured building in the alley is a western villa. Originally a private residence and later a church, it is now a site for love and marriage consumption full of sweetness and fashion.
